“Wow! What a great experience for two beginners from California! My wife and I booked our paddle board lesson/tour over the phone. Matty was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. After we booked, he promptly sent us an email with the meet up spot. The morning of our trip, Matty was very professional and stayed in contact with us until we got together. He even brought his super sweet wife with him! She was a great help on our tour for sure. Due to the water conditions, we had to look at a few spots before Matty decided on the right location. Sure this took a few extra minutes but it showed us two things: one, safety was important and he didn’t want two beginners going out in rough waters; two, that he truly cared about our experience.
Both Matty and his wife gave amazing instructions and we were up and paddling in no time!

“You really only need to know one thing. This is a place that cares a lot about the customer experience. My wife and I surfed (or third time going surfing) with Matty for a couple of hours and had a great time. Most importantly he’s knowledgable, friendly and a good teacher. On top of that he’s on time and has the right equipment (sunscreen, boards, surf shirts etc). It’s pretty much a 5/5 right there. We couldn’t ask for more. But there was more! After the class we got to borrow the surf bords for as long as we wanted and Matty would deliver them to a nearby beach where we went to surf on our own and then pick them up there. Seriously, it doesn’t get better than that. 6/5 stars.”

“What a thrilling experience! I am a rather middle aged, non athletic mom and Matt made this such a wonderful experience. He met our family on the beach with boards and paddles and a fantastic energy and encouragement. My son was all in and ready for the thrill, I had to take some time to build up to the ‘stand up’ part of the fun, Matt made me feel totally at ease about taking my time and being comfortable before each step or if I had chosen to stay kneeling on the board I never felt like I wasn’t keeping up with the fun. He gave each of us the exact attention that we needed as well as plenty of time just to sit out on the boards and take in the beauty that is Maui. We plan to return to Maui Sports Adventures for all of our future water lessons and tours as we have tried several others and this one was just fantastic!! “We visit Maui annually, and surfing or SUP are always the highlights of the trip. We have taken lessons with the Schweitzer family four times now through Maui Sports Adventures.
